Vhenloch's Bookstore

Your source for quality reading

The following three books that I am reccomending, form the stable basis of a 20th century magician's spellbooks. While I don't reccomend purchasing them all at once, I do reccomend that you purchase them all. They will provide you with a good base knoweldge and referance guide, that you will look back to for years to come....I still use my copies of these 3 works. Purchase the first title, read it then repeate the process until you have all three of the first titles. Later on, as I make more specialized areas in the bookstore (i.e. sections for white/black magic, wicca, Kabahlah..etc) I will reccomend some more titles for you to aquire depending on you magickal path/focus. Now remember though, I only reccomend books that I personally own, and feel are valuable. There are a lot of BS titles out there, and I have made the mistake of buying a few of them, so I hope I can save you that money by only reccomending the best titles, at the best prices, through Amazon.com.

Ah, Modern Magick....now this book certainly brings back memories for me. It was the first book that I ever purchased on the art of ritual/ceremonial magick. No matter what magickal path you choose to go down, if you are realativly new to the arts of magick, this book by Donald M. Kraig will help you out tremendously. The reason why this book is so essential to the novice is this: The thing is written in language that you can actually understand! I remember when I first read a passage in a book by A.E. Waite, boy let me tell you, I did not get hardly anything that man said. Modern Magick is also nice because not only does it give you the formulas and instructions for the rituals, it gives you the history and reasoning behind them. This was very usefull for me, because when I started reading this book I did not even have any idea what a LBRP was. This book is broken down into 11 progressive lessons, that will take you from novice to adept with ease. This title is a must have for every serious occult library, and a must have for the novice.

This next title is also one of the "Books" that all Occultists should have in their libraries. This is the encyclopedia of magick that others have used as the basis for most major New Age trends. This book has been the elusive guide to Magick, and unless you were lucky enough to be able to get the full edition from a collector, you had to search endlessly jigsawing such books as The Equinox of the Gods, Book Four, and Magick in Theory and Practice. Now your Crowleyana can be complete with this edition of Magick. It explores modern magick from three different aspects; Western Yoga, Western Ceremonial Magick, and the New Aeon as expressed in the Book of the Law. If you are looking for one book that will take you from the basics to the highest of magickal heights, this is it. I cannot stress it's value enough. While it is a bit pricy, imagine the ammount of money I spent on 4-5 other rare books I had to purchase to piece together this masterfull work. This may not be a title for the compleate novice, but if you have read the above title, or fancy yourself a true sorcerror, test your mettle against Crowley.

This is basically an encyclopedia for the practacing magician. Buy it, you will not be disapointed. So much content you won't even know where to start. I read this book and am very impressed with the contents. It has everything that a magician could want. It makes somewhat difficult reading at times but it can be gotten through. It offers a complete system of magick;enochian tablets and calls, how to consecrate ritual tools, scrying. It's all here. What made an impression on me, is Regardies claim that magicians try to attain Godhead as the buddhists do. Magicians do it through ritual, buddhists do it through meditation. This book is definetly required reading for the magician. While it is true that there are other paths in the world that practice High Ceremonial Magick, essentially all of them have borrowed in greater or lesser degrees from the Golden Dawn. This book includes all the initiations as practiced in the Temple of Stella Matutina, plus all of the original Knowledge Lectures that were given to the members in the Outer Order of the Golden Dawn. While most of this material has been published elsewhere, no where else has it been kept in as close to its original form as Regardie has preserved it, complete with lectures from W. Wynn Westcott and S.L. "MacGregor" Mathers. The price for this large tome (originally published as 4 seperate books) is a steal, don't pass up on Amazon.com's cheap price, and add this title to your library.
